Dr Sunil Hirani

BSc (Hons), BDS, MSc, FDSRCS (Eng), MOrthRCS (Eng), FDS (Orth), GCAP(KCL)

Dr Hirani is currently the Chairman of the British Lingual Orthodontic Society (BLOS) and British Dental Association (BDA). 

In 2022, he became a Titular member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics (ESLO) by examination. This is the highest level lingual board examination in Europe and obtained first place.  

He has published articles in leading journals such as the Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, European Journal of Orthodontics and Orthodontic Update and presented to numerous societies around the world including the American Association of Orthodontists, British Orthodontic Society, Indian Orthodontic Society, Turkish Lingual Orthodontic Society, Australian Society of Lingual Orthodontics.

 Dr Hirani works exclusively in private practice and has a strong interest in digital orthodontics, aligners, lingual orthodontics, skeletal anchorage and interdisciplinary care.

In 2023, he was awarded the Maurice Berman Prize for Clinical Excellence from the British Orthodontic Society. This is a once in a lifetime achievement award. It is the highest honor one can receive for their work in the field of clinical orthodontics. Less than 1% of British Orthodontists will ever achieve this accolade. Over the last 20 years, only 8 people (including Dr Hirani) have won this prize, and many have failed
